Ultra Running

I ran my first marathon in 2008. I've been hooked ever since. I love running. I love running off-road, on dirt trail, and long distances. Well, as I get older, truth be told, I'm enjoying the shorter distances more and more.

Mountaineering

Ever since my parents took me to Red River, New Mexico, on family vacations as a kid, I've been in love with the mountains. I'm lucky enough to have successfully climbed Mt. Rainier twice. Thankfully, I now live in Colorado and have the mountains in my backyard. The photo of me above was taken by my friend Jon on top of Quandary Peak.

Smoked Meat

One of my hobbies is smoking meats, a.k.a. barbecue. I used to work a lot harder using a weber kettle. More recently, I picked a Pit Boss pellet smoker, and the weber hasn't seen much use. Just as good and much less work! It's a fun hobby that once you have some idea what you're doing, even when it doesn't turn out perfect, it still tastes good.

Code

I write code for fun and a living. Lately, I've been spending most of my time in the LISP world of Clojure. I've also enjoyed dipping my toes into machine learning. In a former developer life, I was a C# programmer. I've also dabbled in open source and was a co-creator of nspec.
